A native of Toronto Canada, Terri Hanauer graduated with an honors degree in Theater
Arts from York University. She has worked in Canada and the United States as an actress
in film ("Havoc," "The Rapture," "Communion"), television (roles in shows ranging from
"Seinfeld," to "Without a Trace," "NYPD Blue" and Showtime's cult hit "Beggars and Choosers,"
where she recurred for two seasons as Dr. Lillian Wackenhut, the lesbian, sperm-appropriating
endocrinologist) and theater (appearing at the Mark Taper Forum and the Arena Stage).
She is also a photographer,
specializing in natural light photography. She has photographed
some of Hollywood's most prominent actors and actresses, and her
work has appeared in advertisements, magazines and on websites.
Recently, she shifted her focus to directing. In 2002 she directed
a short film

a film she adapted and directed, "Recycling Flo".
It was chosen by AFI to represent
it at the Cannes Film Festival '04 - International Short Film Corner,
and the Los Angeles Crosstown Film Festival. Along with being 'official
selection' at many festivals, "Recycling Flo" has won two BEST SHORT/JURY
PRIZES at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the
Farmington Comedy Film Festival.
She has written a feature film - "What if..." - that she plans on
directing. It received 'honorable mention' at the LA Indie Producers Screenplay Contest '05.
